HMA provides practical household chore training in a real HDB setting, giving helpers hands on experience with the exact environment they will work in. Trainees learn proper cleaning methods, laundry routines, kitchen hygiene, and daily upkeep using real layouts, appliances, and fixtures commonly found in Singapore homes. This realistic approach helps them build confidence, understand expectations clearly, and adapt smoothly to their future employer’s household. If time permits, they are also trained in grocery shopping and public transport such as buses and MRT.
HMA offers a dedicated Kursus Perbedaan Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Melayu to help new helpers communicate confidently with Singaporean employers. This course focuses on the key vocabulary, daily expressions, and cultural nuances that often cause misunderstandings at home. By strengthening language awareness and teaching the differences in meaning, tone, and usage between both languages, the programme aims to minimise miscommunication, build trust, and ensure smoother working relationships between helpers and employers.
HMA conducts classroom based Basic English Conversation training to help helpers communicate confidently in everyday Singapore settings. The course focuses on simple, practical English used when speaking with school going children, interacting at markets, and communicating in clinics or hospitals. Through guided practice and real life scenarios, helpers learn essential vocabulary, common phrases, and polite conversational patterns. By understanding basic English, they gain the confidence to interact, follow instructions accurately, and build smoother, more trusting relationships within the household.
